Jace’s 3rd and final Ultrasound: September 8, 2014
Way back in September I had my final ultrasound. And although it’s been a while and Jace is finally in this world, I couldn’t go without posting this. While pregnant with Liam everything seemed a lot easier. I was up to date on everything. However, taking care of a toddler while pregnant, was
a little very overwhelming and exhausting.
Looking back at Liam’s 3rd ultrasound, I was really surprised to see how much they look alike. They have the same mouth, nose, and eyes.
I was about 39 weeks pregnant and ready to pop at anytime when Liam got invited to two birthday parties in the beginning of November. I’m not one to complain about being tired, but holy crap, by the 3rd trimester, this pregnancy really got to me. Of course, that doesn’t stop me from taking Liam to a couple of birthday parties. Oh heck no! I’m all about the fun and especially if it puts a smile on the little guys face. But the problem with taking my toddler to a birthday party and being pregnant at the same time is that I have to chase him around nonstop. And like many other pregnant women, all I want to do is eat, sit, and relax. But all of that is the complete opposite of what actually happens. He’s quite the explorer (see train party pics below.)
The first birthday party was held at his friends house in the backyard. It was good. I didn’t have to worry too much about him running into the street or into strangers. He played with a few baseballs and got to decorate a pennant with lots of sports stickers. A few baseball cookies (aka Oreos), a hot dog, and we were good to go.
That train birthday party at travel town had a group lunch inside one of the trains. Sounds like fun right? Wrong. There wasn’t anything inside that train that made him happy. “Sit down and eat food? That’s no fun.” Boy do I wish I had a magic wand to make him sit and eat. Food isn’t important by the way. At least not for a 2 yr old. After a few minutes inside the train, the tantrums began. So back outside we go. Thank goodness Tim was there to help. I swear I could have gone into labor at any point.

Well, December 1st got here pretty quick! Happy shopping to everyone on this awesome Cyber Monday. It’s been quite busy at the Mitchell home with a newborn. I haven’t had a chance to start planning our 25 days of Christmas countdown. That is on my agenda this evening. I do want to catch up with our holiday posts though. Our last one for October is our Halloween 2014 post. As always, every holiday we start out with a fun breakfast! This year it was pumpkin pancakes with a ghoulish topping- whip cream and chocolate morsels. Liam definitely enjoyed every bite! We filled our day with a few fun activities- coloring and stamping and a little outdoor fun on the trampoline until it was time to get into our Halloween costumes.
Speaking of costumes, this year we were a family of vikings. They were custom made by Costume Eras in North Hollywood. I also have to mention that it was Liam’s 1st year trick-or-treating. At first I thought it was going to be a disaster because getting that costume on the little guy was not pleasant. But after we got him out of the house the fun began. Tim did a great job guiding him through the experience. He would knock on the door and Liam would say “Trick-or-Treat!” After a few attempts, Liam got the hang of it. He wasn’t shy of grabbing candy from the home owners either and sometimes he would set his pumpkin down and scoop out his candy to show everyone. Cutest ever! I loved listening to him say trick-r-treat and viking. He made sure to let everyone know he was a viking.
Towards the end of our trick-or-treating it started to get really cold so we headed back home to finish off our night with some homemade chili and cornbread. Here are a few photos…
