A little late but wanted to share our fun pumpkin carving party I hosted a few days before Halloween. We’ve made it a tradition to carve pumpkins and bake spider cupcakes each year….at least I did. Ha! Since we are new to Valley Glen, I wanted to have a few valley moms and their toddlers join us while we prepare for one of the most exciting holiday’s of the year, Halloween. I am part of the Valley Mom Meetup Group. It’s a great way to meet parent’s and their children by hosting events or attending events hosted by others. The turn out was great and although most of the tots didn’t have all their attention on the carving, they had a blast running around in the yard together. Stay tuned for our Halloween photos!
Ahoy it’s a Boy, and his name is Jace T. Mitchell! Who were the masterminds of this awesome baby shower? The best cousins ever! I always refer to them as my sisters. They put together such a sweet shower for me and I’m so thankful for it, especially since I wasn’t going to have one for Jace. This too, shall go in a memory album someday. I am also grateful to all my close friends who could make it. I even had a childhood friend show up who I haven’t seen in years!!! You know who you are…Lile. lol So good to see her and she looks just as beautiful as she did back when we were in grade school. A few of my out-of-town Aunts showed up as well. So awesome to have them part of this very special occasion.
Besides this memorable event, our time spent in Texas was a blast! I got to visit my family and Liam got to play with his cousins, Olivia and Roman. There was something planned everyday so we were never short of fun and being bored was never an issue (photos coming soon). Come to think of it, we were exhausted by the end of each day from all the excitement. The only person we were missing was Tim. Wish the hubby could have been with us, but he was hard at work in Washington and Utah. I did share many photos with him and we continued to do face-time throughout the trip to keep him posted on all the fun stuff. He kinda got jelly, but he was really happy that we got to spend time with the family. 🙂 So before I share our Texas trip photos with you, here are a few I snapped at the shower. Hope you enjoy them as much as I do. The decorations were adorable!
Gotta have a “Selfie” before arriving at the baby shower!
Liam AKA the Bait Bandit!
So cute… white powdered donuts as “Life Savers”
Goodie bags for the candy bait
My friends are all goofballs…
My lovely cousins, Monica, Sara, and Dina. My Aunt Susan is in the middle holding the anchor 🙂
Have I mentioned how much we love birthday parties? This weekend Liam and I (sadly, Tim had to work) had some fun at Travel Town Museum celebrating his buddy Theo’s 2 year birthday. What a great place to throw a choo choo train themed party. They have historic railroad locomotives and cars to see and you can ride a miniature train around the park. Liam and I skipped the train ride. He was actually more interested in running around and exploring rocks and leaves. Next time, when he’s a bit older, and can sit still, we will take that ride!
There were so many cute favors for the guests and a table for crafts. I had to stop half way before Liam destroyed the marker on the wooden train. Overall, we got some color on it. 🙂 The favors were small little candy filled jars and a conductor hat with a train whistle attached. ADORABLE!
I brought back a little something for Liam from the gift shop. He loves his books so much at home, I decided to get him his 1st Thomas the Train book. And he loves it! Yay!
I am so excited to finally share Liam’s 1st birthday party with everyone! He turned the BIG 01 on October 11, 2013, but our “scheduling” dictated us to “push” the world famous “Monster Bash” two days later on a Sunday. It was several days of monster project making and baking, but it was definitely worth it. Tim got home late Friday and was able to pitch in! Team effort people! Enjoy……..
Cute and colorful monster favors for the kids! I thought they were a perfect addition to the party.
Liam’s Birthday Party!
Fuzzy monster centerpieces made by me. There was suppose to be a bigger green monster centerpiece as well, but those blew up in my face…twice. Ugh, long story. I just settled with the 2 small orange ones.
Eyeballs out of paper plates. I thought about this in my dream. Seriously, my idea and it was genius! lolCupcake toppers also made by me…
Do you see that cylinder on the corner with the green Sour Powers? Well, that was suppose to be a tall cool candy apothecary jar, but it broke that morning. 😦 Bummer. Plan B wasn’t too bad considering it was a flower vase. Goodie bags for the older kids and adults. Because we all need a sugar rush. 🙂
Our awesome 5-eyed monster cake! Great job done by Sugar Babies Cubcakery!I was so happy I didn’t have to worry about making the food for the guests. We hired a taco man who made delicious tacos outside our party room, which is why I decided to focus on a dessert table. Here it is! Ta Daa!
Monster photo booth time!
It’s obviously Liam’s 1st cupcake. Can you tell?
Happy Birthday my sweet baby boy!
October 11th is right around the corner!! I can’t believe Liam is turning 1 soon. You know what that means? It’s time to PARTAY! With all the crazy awesome birthday party themes out there, It’s so difficult to choose JUST one! Only one? Ugh!
I know, I know, he’s turning one and he will never remember it…Wah Wah. Well, guess what? I’m his mama so I get to do whatever I want. 🙂 Now, first things first, I have to figure out what theme to get the ball rolling on the party planning. The other day my little bookworm and I had a visit to Barnes & Noble. I can’t tell you how much this little boy loves books! Every night he falls asleep to “On the Night You Were Born.” Best book so far! He also loves his hardcover color, number, and shape books. The collection is slowly growing and I can’t wait to start working on a little reading area for the munchkin.
Anyways, back to the PARTAY theme. We came across a book while we were there and that’s when I decided….
“The Tickle Monster” is going to be the theme for his 1 year birthday party! Such a cute book and who doesn’t love these silly monsters?
Let the party planning begin!
I am so excited to share my Little Man Baby Shower Photos with all of you! A HUGE Thank You to all the guests who attended. I can’t thank you enough for being a part of this special day!!!
My friend Laura’s amazing homemade cupcakes…red velvet and salty caramel. So goooood they should be illegal!
